After fishing last night and catching more pike than we could shake an Ugly Stick at, we headed to bed early because the bugs came out in force. That would be a theme of the trip--the bugs were bad, REAL bad. The worst I've ever seen.  We chose a site on Badwater with an open exposure to west winds in the hope that the prevailing westerlies would minimize bug problems.  That didn't really work. 

Our first full day was spent fishing Badwater. Got lots of pike and wallleyes....maybe 40 for the day. Biggest pike was 33'. Unfortunately, we didn't take any photos of fish because we either forgot the camera or it was too tricky to turn around in the canoe to take one. :(
