Early morning, we hit our first lake and were on water at Nym Lake heading for our Quetico entry point. The day was overcast, but we avoided rain at the beginning. We quickly put Nym behind us and took the superhighway portage over to Batchewaung Lake. The water was calm though and we quickly made it through Little Batchewaung Bay and Batchewaung Bay, crossed into the west end of Pickerel Narrows and portaged across into Maria Lake. We make camp at TK on a point on the east side of the lake. Definitely a nice site! Plenty of room with four of us in hammocks and the rest in a four man and two man tent.
