Saturday 8/10/19, Day Two:

We were up for an 8:15 breakfast and on the road as quickly as possible. Another traditional stop for us is at St. Paul, where we always visit with some dear friends. Back in the 70's and 80's, our friends were the ones who kept Anna's mother and her Uncle Ed while Grandma and Grandpa went on their canoe trips. They lived in the Prospect Park area of Minneapolis back then, but now they are in a senior complex on Johanna Lake.

Our lunch stop on this day was another tradition. We like to eat our lunch at Foster Cheese Haus. The food is good, the environment is relaxing, and we can purchase a variety of yummy cheeses for our cabin week. But the real highlight is the rocks!! Anna loves rocks, especially ones on which she can climb (and make Grandma gasp!)

Our dear friends were, of course, glad to see us. And Anna was entranced with the new additions to their family: two delightful Devon Rex cats named Anya and Niko. Her camera came out right away, and she snapped a whole series of beautiful photos. Here is one:

After dinner at the facility's lovely dining room, we headed back to our mini-suite at the Home2 Suites in Roseville. We all enjoyed the pool on this evening, and we even played around with the waterproof camera a little bit.
