Thanks Frenchy19, that's my motivation too. Just started using light weights in PT today.

Thanks Jackfish! Planning on touring Pickerel from French Lake in early June.

I have had rotator and biceps repairs on both shoulders; nothing as serious as what you are going through. In both cases I was able to paddle. For me, being able to paddle was the motivation to get the surgeries in the first place and to really pay heed to what the folks in PT told me what to do.

Thoughts and prayers with you, Goose! Hope that shoulder soon is back in full action for you.

Had a "reverse" total left shoulder replacement 1/8/20. Nine weeks later PT is going well and I ordered a kayak paddle today, hoping to try it locally before summer. Anyone else here paddled/portaged after shoulder surgery or used a kayak paddle? (Doc says I should be good to go paddling, but may not be able to get the canoe up.) Who's ready for soft water?

I had total right shoulder replacement in January, 2017 and took my first post-surgery trip to Quetico the following September with no problem. Since then I have taken three more including a 9-day trip from Lac La Croix up to Darky and out through Argo in 2018 paddling a solo boat with a kayak paddle and a tough 9-day trip in early June, 2019 that I led with 5 others including several newbies to McIntyre Lake via Back Bay and out the Kett portages (at age 70). I tell people that when I work hard all day everything hurts but my shoulder. My only regret is that I didn't have the surgery several years earlier. Your PT is your best friend!

Currently going through shoulder PT . Already had both knees replaced and two toe joints.
