Never been to that part of Quetico, but occasionally I have had difficulty getting around obstacles with my 18.5 footer---but that is rare.
Just keep looking ahead and try to anticipate how you are going to do the turns. You could all try to traverse the portage together one person in front of the canoe, one behind in case you get stuck--other 2 could help guide you. Worse case scenario you will just need to back up to get unstuck and take another run at it. If yo get really stuck just put the canoe down and take a quick break. I would guess on the Man Chain route you really will have minimal problems.

Three girls on the Man Chain trip in July! We're renting a MNIII - I know it's a long canoe - is that going to be an issue on some of the portages? Any tips/suggestions on manuevering a long canoe like that?

I don't know Camp...but I am going about the same way through Seagull catch ride up to Hook Island from Seagull Outfitters, Canoe over to Cache Bay then I am going to Silver Falls and then South to Jasper and around, avoiding the Man Chain do to time contraints. This will be my 1st Solo. Not sure on dates either late Aug or Early Sept. SunCatcher

You will have a blast on your solo - I loved mine. We're getting tow up Moose to Prairie Portage for our trip.
