We're headed for Kashahpiwi Memorial Day. Hope the ice is out by then--the way it looks here in Iowa we're entering a new ice age.

The mighty Piwi. What a lake.
While running over the noon hour today I reminded my running companions, who comprise one of my annnual Quetico trip groups, that I want half my ashes thrown from the "Grand Hotel" campsite on Piwi.
I can not think of a more beautiful place.

The last time I was there was in 1964 with the Boy Scouts. Can I be that old? I remember we camped up on top of a cliff.
