Ya! 3...2..1
Trip # 1 depends on how you are getting from the Ranger Station to Black Robe Portage....if you have a jet boat ride that is OK, but paddling on Lac Lacroix in windy conditions can be trouble....We came out at Brewer Rapids last year with the wind whisteling, the tow was ruff, paddling was out of the question.
We went into Suzanette from Bottle Portage one year, across Crooked to the Guides Portage, to Gardener Bay, then up thru Elk, Hurn & Ted.....Then into Earl, Brent & Suzanette....it was a great trip....out thru Conmee, William, Darky, Wicksted, Gratton, McAree & Brewer Rapids.

I'm planning a Quetico canoe/fishing trip for July 11-18, for 5 people. I'm thinking about the following routes and wanted to see what you thought, and if you have any specific recommendations for places to hit. We've all been before, and are in decent shape for portaging (we single portage). We are looking for fish, and scenery in that order.
1. Agnes to S-Chain
2. Poohbah Lake from Ranger Station in First Nations Village
3. Sarah, Suzanette area
Best fishing? Best overall trip?

Haven't been to Poohbah, but I like the Sarah/Suzanette the best. More chance of isolation. Fishing will be great on any of the routes but I like the fishing in this area the best compared to Agnes/s-chain. Sarah, McIntrye, Brent, Suzannette, Burt all Great trout and smally lakes. Nice walleyes in Brent, Suzanette Burt as well.

Check out my last trip report we made it to Suzanette from Brent and fished there 2 days and checked out most of the campsites... the camp sites are OK not as good as the ones on Eastern Brent. Would be fine for a smaller group but not good for larger groups. You can PM for more details if you go. Fishing... we hit the smallmouth hard on Suzanette and did not do much. A few nice fish but they were few and far between on the topwater and we hit a lot of good looking shoreline. Maybe we were off on the timing but it was mid June so I expected it to be better. I have read that this is a good smallmouth lake but we did not catch many. Lots of good lake trout action on Suzanette and many in shallow water. We caught them all over up to 28". We caught a few nice walleye topping out at 27" (hog!) so there are some nice walleye to be had there. Focus on the windblown shorlines for the waller we were rocking and rolling in our canoe but the fish were there and aggressive. Have not been to the other two areas you are considering or Sarah but you cannot go wrong in Suzanette.
