Thank you, "Uncle Phil" Cotton and Barry Simon, and, of course, all the other lunatics who have participated on the project outings... especially Deerfoot, who -- at least once each trip -- swears that it is enough, then returns for more every summer:)

Who knows, maybe I’ll be back for one final trip since 2018 maybe the final year of WP trips.
Volume 5 will be available at Canoecopia.

Hi John, Cary and I both have trips going in June, if you're interested. Also John Holmes and Bill Pyle in May to early June, but I think they may be filled?

And Ken in July.

OK, I can see that my participation is definitely in demand. What are my incentives: first dibs on the fruit cups, extra bacon, etc.... Let's hear some offers.

Opportunity to paddle like an outboard motor... (which you do, anyhow). Maybe first lick at a beaver, if we get in range. Seconds on any fish that I manage to catch and cook.

Tonight Phil Cotton announced the pending release of Volume Five.
Volume Five is the fifth of a series of planned booklets of canoe route maps that will eventually cover the entire Wabakimi Area. It contains 21 maps that cover the northern tributaries of Lake Nipigon as well as 4 supplementary maps that depict the route up the Brightsand and Kashishibog Rivers from Allanwater Bridge to the headwaters of the Kopka River at Redsand Lake.
The coverage area extends east from Redsand Lake to North Ombabika Bay on Lake Nipigon and includes all of Kopka River, Collins River, Vale Creek, Badwater Creek, Big River, Linklater Creek and the navigable portions of the Wabinosh, Pikitigushi and Little Jackfish Rivers.

Friends of Wabakimi (FOW) is pleased to announce a limited release of Volume Five in its series of Wabakimi Canoe Route Maps booklets that will eventually cover the entire Wabakimi Area.
Volume Five contains 21 maps that cover the northern tributaries of Lake Nipigon as well as 4 supplementary maps that depict the route from Allanwater Bridge up the Brightsand and Kashishibog Rivers to the headwaters of the Kopka River at Redsand Lake.
The coverage area extends east from Redsand Lake to North Ombabika Bay on Lake Nipigon and includes all of Kopka River, Collins River, Vale Creek, Badwater Creek, Big River, Linklater Creek and portions of the Wabinosh, Pikitigushi and Little Jackfish Rivers. Many of these routes connect with those that lie within Wabakimi Provincial Park depicted in Volume Three.
Each map is digitally produced in full colour on 8.5” x 11.0” high-quality paper to depict canoe route values such as the locations of campsites and portages. Accurately measured portage lengths are expressed in metres to make them compatible with topo maps. Locations of outpost camps and lodges are included where assistance may be obtained should an emergency arise. A descriptive title indicates the extent of the map coverage and the direction of flow of the main intervening waterway (e.g., Davies Lake to Ahleen Lake via Palisade River). Maps are uniform in scale and each overlaps adjoining maps for seamless coverage of a canoe route. Enlargement circles provide details of portages as well as the known locations of hazards or obstacles such as swifts, rapids and waterfalls.
Wabakimi Canoe Route Maps booklets may be ordered using the Retail Mail Order Form available at: http://www.wabakimi.org/maps/files/waba ... orm_v7.pdf. A discount equivalent to the postage and handling charge is available to FOW members. Make cheques payable to "Friends of Wabakimi".

I think I will buy a copy just to figure out how I ended up in the middle of Gooseneck rapids without a way out. Heck, you guys should have just widened the path we cut through the queens willows.
