I've rolled past it a couple of times. It's good to know that it's still up and running. I think that there is a convenience store with petrol pump right across from it. It's not cheap fuel but critical if you happen to be running low.

Does any one know if the four winds motel in Savant Lake is
still open. Have been calling for a few days but no answer.
Only 15 more days till put in.

They called the night before I left and canceled my room , saying the construction
remodel on the hotel was not finished. I drove up to the put in and just slept in the car.
Heading back up Aug. 25th for a couple of weeks, plan to spend some time on
Wilkie, then over to your favorite campsite on Flindt, over to Gault and the Allan water
river, care to tag along?

lars - I wish!
I am stuck in the city for the foreseeable future.
Taking care of my 93 yr old F-I-L.
He has fallen twice in the last week and its getting so my wife simply cannot do it alone.
Other family issues also have my attention and I have to be available just in case.
Oh, well.
Like any real Cubs fan, I know how to say, "There's always next year!"

There's a decent hotel or two in Ignace as a backup. I've never stayed there but others have and report back that they are comfortable, serviceable options.

I have stayed at the Northwoods Motor Inn a couple times.
Right on 17.
Clean, comfortable room.
Decent restaurant.

BnD is also looking for lodging near Savant Lake.
