Amy, a number of us regulars will be attending. And there maybe an FOW meeting. However, there will not be a WP/FOW booth at Canoecopia this year.

I'm thinking about coming out by Mid-May for a 12-14 day trip into the general area; route to be determined...IF I have a canoe partner or two. A two or three canoe group would be fun. Might stay into early June before I head back. I've been with the Wabakimi Project for the last four years, doing week 1 (and 2 last year). I'll have my Bell Northwind with me and provisions. The Friends of Wabakimi (FOW; formerly Project folks) are working on a CanoeCopia get together... There's more to do for this world class canoeing area.

Bummer, I have to work in May. Well, I teach a travel course, so can't feel too sorry for me. : )

I'd love to attend the gathering, so keep me updated. Goatroti, I expect you to . be there, no excuses about being a million miles away in the Arctic. : )

Amy, I'll start walking now. It's only 606 miles. 46 days makes it 13+ miles a day by snowshoe. See you at the Sheraton Hotel bar at about 7:30 pm on Thursday March 7.

I am planning on going to Copia, too, Amy. Haven't figured out my summer paddling fix, yet....

Yeah! Some of my peeps will be there. Goatroti, get to retiring already. (I'm jelly).

Goatroti, If you are looking for a 4th and it matches my white water skills, I would be interested in looking at that trip in August. My plans are still up in the air, really. I just know I have to get to Canada and get to the wilderness this year. Boreal or Bust.

The more the merrier... up to a point. I'll let Chuck know you're looking.

goatroti: "Chuck Clise and Barry and I are looking at something like Albany River-ish to Abizotakichuan Lake then the Opichuan River south. Still at the 'looking at' stage. Mid-late August 10 days.

I won't be at Canoecopia again this year... damnable work. Retiring in June... mebbe next year.
"

Just curious, are you planning to end the trip on the Ogoki road, or are you flying out?

We're still at the looking at stage. I will ask Chuck what he figures, but as of now, absolutely nothing is definite except the Opichuan River in the middle of it all.

Anyone planning for 2019? Any Wabikimi Project people going to Canoecopia? I’m buried under 10 inches of snow and dreaming of the Boreal.
