No subscription, you just buy the map. As I recall the Trakmap website lists the devices it will work with. I used mine in the Wabakimi area as well as other areas of Ontario.

I'm not suggesting here that you buy this, but they are the best. I wish I could post a screenshot of just a small section.

I will second this suggestion. I have this item and it has proved to be very useful on Ontario trips. It is a bit pricey but I have received occasional emails from Trakmaps offering their products at a nice discount.

I used to have Version 3, but I got Version 6 last week and it is much better. Got it for half price as an update.
