For sure it works.
Three people wont leave room for the stove though.

I set up my clam xl4000t in the yard and ran a wood stove
In it. It worked great. My question is has
Anyone else tried this? Would it work in the bwca?
The size is 8’ x 8’. We’d probably have 3 guys
On the trip.

I'm sure some have done it, but suspect it's the weight - or rather the weight to square foot ratio that may limit their use. And 8x8 feet in a hot tent is usually a one person or crowded 2 person tent. I don't know how you'd get 3 people and a stove in there, but if you can, go for it.

I would echo what others are saying. 3 people in an 8x8 would not be comfortable nor safe. Too many people in too little of a space with too hot of a hazard. That being said, I do think they are modifiable structures that would function well as a hot shelter, especially the newer, quilted insulated versions.

I've seen a couple of hot tent/fishing huts at the Winter Camping Symposium.
