The road to the public access has never been plowed when I've been there, other than to create a little parking area right at the intersection with the road to the outfitter. But it's not too bad of a pull down 1495 to the lake from there (well, a little up, then a little down).

There's also a winter access entry points thread pinned to the top of the winter camping and activities forum.

Hi all! Does anyone know if the Round lake parking lot and the road to it would be plowed in the winter? Sorry if this has been answered! Or do I need to call the ranger station?

Additionally, you can check in with Tuscarora Lodge and see if you can park at their location. It is right on Round Lake as well. That is where I have parked in the past for winter trips out of Round Lake.

As have I. There's a self-permit station on the side of one of their outbuildings right near the landing. They do have some visitors/other groups during the winter so just shoot them an email and they'll let you know if it's alright.
