Chris Stromberg who is a long time Quetico Ranger whom many of you may have met in the back country is big on Cross Country skiing does a lot with that group and also promotes wilderness ski travel in the winter.
He also has a annual event where people get together and ski across much of Pickeral and I believe end up at French lake.

Thought some of you winter enthusiasts might be interested in this. "The Beaten Path have developed some of the best cross-country trails in Ontario. North of Quetico Park boundary, and through-out the Dawson campgrounds . . ."

If their groomed trails don't interest you, you could camp at Dawson (French Lake) and experience as they say, "true wilderness skiing over the lakes and portages of Quetico Park." --Goose
