A few buddies and I were thinking about doing a winter camping trip in the BWCA. We thought it would be fun to hunt hare and grouse while up there. According to the DNR website it's legal to do so. Has anyone done this before? Has anyone seen any grouse or other fowl in the winter in the BWCA?

Thanks!

Grouse season usually ends at the end of December. Snowshoe season goes a little longer.
Done Grouse numerous times on the edge or just in the BWCA with good luck.
Snowshoes are on the increase in recent years and may be good by newer burns.Hunted snowshoes and ate them before, but for a long time numbers were down so I just observed them.
