Are you using it for hot tenting? Have you looked at Black Diamond Mega Light tents or Big Agnes Yahmonite

Hot tenting, yes. I have looked at the Mega Light, and I could rig that for a hot tent pretty easily. This setup, however, is already set up for a stove and includes a titanium stove along with the stove jack. Seems like a decent price for a complete set up. $800 shipped.

I have the Megalight. I think it's a bit small to use with a stove. Also, the top vent is too small for condensation venting, IMHO. (For comparison, the Oware tarps are similar to the Megalight, but I believe their doors zip at both top and bottom, giving them better venting options. Oware also offers larger sizes).
I think one of the nice things about hot tenting is that you could dry out a few clothing items. For that, I think I would size up to maybe one of Seek Outsides 6 person tipis, so there was a bit more headroom room for hanging clothes maybe. I think it is worth the extra $ and weight.

I agree with wanting the extra space a 6 person would bring, and it is not the weight, but the $ at this point. Maybe I will get lucky and find a used one somewhere!"
Moonman made a DIY ammo can stove for a fish house a couple years back. Yeah, the winter camping gets expensive....

quote SevenofNine: "A couple things to note: 1 unless you are shorter in stature I bet you will wish for more head room. 2 the brown color wouldn't be as nice as white for letting in light during the day.
Given those things if it meets your needs for a price point then go for it. "
Excellent points, especially the height piece.

Saw your old post about the Cimarron from SeekOutside- did you end up getting that? If so, has it worked out? I'm considering the Redcliff with a stove as well, trying to get some info on how well these tents work in our MN winters.

I use my pyramid like a fish house. With my typical winter pitch the height is almost 9 feet. 2 guys over 6' tall can comfortably stand up inside. I wouldn't want one any shorter.

I've the 4-man version with the large stove. The extra weight is minimal and the extra room is nice.

The Sierra Design Mountain Guide Tarp tent is another option. They are on sale on their website for For $270 normally $360. Just need to do some modifying to it for a stove jack. There is one on ebay that has modifications already done to it for $425.
