I loved it - also didn't put it down. An "easy" read that catches your attention. Compared to other paddling adventures, this one kept me hooked and I wanted MORE information the whole way through.

I agree it would be suitable for youth as well.

This is a classic and I suspect many of you have read it. For those who haven't I highly recommend it.

As high school ended for two young men in 1930 Minneapolis they decide to canoe to Hudson Bay. The book documents the adventure and 4 months of paddling the 2,250 miles. No gps, no phones, no kevlar; just mans desire for adventure. I found this a very easy read and believe I only set the book down once before I finished! I think this would be a great read for a teenager and adult alike.

There have been some books that have been written which are similar to this adventure. I have some on my shelves. I think this is the standard to which the others are compared.

I loved reading this book.

A very good account of a trip a long time ago.

This is a great book to take on a canoe trip. Just the right length and a very inspirational account of what's possible if you set your mind to it.

I loved this book. I brought it to the BW in Aug. I read it and passed it off to my friend. She read it and gave it to her husband, who also finished it on the same trip. It was really a lot of entertainment per pound. All of us enjoyed it thoroughly. On my Sept trip I through it in and made my brother read it, kicking and screaming. He liked it as well. I think it helped that we all live on and paddle the MN river, so it rang with some familiarity for us to start with.
