Obviously this book has nothing to do with canoeing or enjoying the outdoors. But I would say that this is certainly a high adventure book.

The book is taken from Mr. Murray's daily journal entries during his 5 years in the Legion starting in 1960. The book gives graphic accounts of Legion basic training and the Algerian War. This book is certainly not for everyone. If you enjoy military history you will probably enjoy this book. If you have been in the military, especially combat arms, you will certainly relate to the phsical and mental abuse and to the bond formed amongst soldiers.

I found this book a very easy read.

Thanks.

I assumed we were open to reviews on anything considered 'out of the norm' adventure. I'm starting on one titled "Alaska Outlaws' and will add comments soon.
