This is a wonderful book that is a series of short stories about the authors life; focusing on fishing, canoeing and outdoor adventures. The stories begin in Illinois during the 1930's and end in Ely.
I found this book very easy to read and very easy to relate to many of the stories. I would certainly recommend this book and feel it is appropriate for young people. The last story is about the loss of Mr. Cary's wife to cancer. A story that certainly strikes close to my heart. It could help a young person understand cancer and death.
