I bought a huge one and had my local sign shop mountbit on a vinyl banner. I then hung it with closet rods. I highly recommend the guy on Etsy. Excellent customer service and high quality map.

That's awesome, I have the same map. You just saved me a bundle on framing. And I wasn't sure how I would get the framed map home.

I have the A1, same map but laminated, on my office wall. I've drawn previous trips on it and often just daydream at it. Handy for visualizing routes when planning, too!

Piragis in Ely offers this oversized map of the Boundary Waters from Fisher Maps. It's 52" wide by 34" tall.

If you search on wall maps, you'll probably find a few threads. I got mine from a guy I think on etsy. Love it and had it laminated here locally in metro area Twin Cities.

Other people make their own from pieced together maps (their favorite brand). I had originally intended to make one with the National Geographic maps, but glad I bought from this guy one solid sheet.

Has anyone purchased the wall fabric version? If so, what is the surface texture like?

I have a space in my office that is approximately 72" X 42" in size and would like to mount a map of the BWCA on it.

Does anyone have ideas or suggestions?

Thank you!

I have the fabric map. It's pretty smooth, kind of thick, and strong. Almost vinyl like. It's hard to describe. I bought the largest size he has, 72x41, in fabric with the sticky back. It was s custom order since he doesn't offer that size in fabric on his site. He was fantastic to do business with.

I have the McKenzie A1 in the basement. 28"x38" I mounted it on foam board and gave it a nice frame. It is fun for dreaming and route planning, though detail of smaller lakes/portages is lacking.

My twist is that completed routes are drawn in thin sharpie, and every place I've camped gets a pin. There is something awesomely analog about a physical pin on a physical map. I have a memory from each one of the pins, and it will be fun to see it fill up over the years.

Thank you very much everyone. I value the input. Now to figure what will actually work best in the room. Happy Paddling!!
