A friend of mine was in there, and caught a 10 pound pike.
I think easiest way in, is from the West.

+1 I finished reading his book last winter. Lots of great info on the Quetico ecosystem. I was smarter after reading this. Boundary Waters Ecosystem "
That has to rank right up there with the best book of the BWCA history and especially the ecosystem.

I once thought I seen a little trail going that way from basswood,but looked closer and it looked like it petered out.

+1 The book is a masterpiece. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Heinselman shortly before his death in the early 1990s. He LOVED the canoe country. I fully support naming a lake after him, and filled out the form online.
