My wife likes the ink as I put my funds into other hobbies I can't afford. Last year she got the branching tree that incorporates a paddle. We were at Sawbill years ago and both got coffee mugs and this was on hers.

go big or go home ! My recommendation is a complete McKenzie overview map - with campsites, trails, portages and PMA's clearly marked.

A full body map could be incredibly useful. If you're on a trip and you lose your maps all you need to do is strip down and let your tripping partners track the groups progress on your body map.

Pretty darn sure you would not be the first.

That would work best on warm summer days. For cooler times, wear see through clothing. When planning your tat, certain body parts could avoid the needle if properly incorporated into the total scheme of things.

I'm not big into tattoos but have a few old homemade tattoos (from my teens) that I'd like to cover up. My children are getting older & asking questions that I can't hide forever. Have any of you gotten some Boundary Waters themed tattoos? Looking for inspiration here. ?? Or perhaps I should get the flying moose as a tattoo? Lol

Sounds like a plan.

My buddy has a family of sandhill cranes, and then also a big white pine. All in black outline/shading. It's pretty cool.

More than choosing the right image, put some time into finding the right tattoo artist. Tell them what you are doing and ask if you can see before and after shots of their coverup work. In my experience, when the tattoo artist is into what he is putting on you, the end result will be better. And since you'll be spending at least a few hours with this person, they might as well be someone you like.

Looking forward to seeing what you choose.

better yet would be talking to co-workers in the office about your trip - "here - lemme show you where we camped on the 3rd night" (drops pants in break room).
