The Great Outdoors:
Perhaps this was the first time in 31 years that you had that 4th quart of Pelinkovac??
"

The only people I know that drink Pelinkovac are Croatian (or married to a Croatian)....

Never seen that, Mike. I was on a lake once with three eagles that flew here and there, always as a trio in a straight line.

The Great Outdoors: "QueticoMike: "In all of my years of seeing eagles up there ( 31 years now ) I have never seen an eagle land in the lake and float around for an extended period of time. Just thought it was extremely rare to see such an activity. Didn't look like the bird was in any distress, just acted as natural as a gull. Maybe it had seen enough gulls and ducks do it and decided to give it a try?"

Zeus told me you saw a Hippo swimming with a Walrus on one trip after the third quart! :)"

Zeus was hitting the hard stuff more than I was. Of course it might take him a few more to get a buzz with how big he is :)

Couple years ago daughter Sadie and I were across the lake at neighbor Joan’s. We were watching a loon and her baby as an eagle came down and killed em both. He sat there a bit before I shoed him off... hoping at least the mother got away. She didn’t.

On my latest trip to Quetico I witnessed an eagle land in the lake and just bob in the waves like a gull. I thought it was just going to grab a fish and fly off, but it just landed in the lake and floated around for a couple of minutes until flying over to shore. Did watch this eagle catch two smallmouth out of the lake that week. Has anyone else ever seen such a thing?
