If I were in the Ely area I would be sure to stop by and take the leeches off your hand and drink one of the IPA's I just gave you!

A buddy and I are considering the fall lake campground for an August trip with a 16 foot boat with a 35 hp motor. Is there plenty of fishable water we can use the boat in? I have never stayed there but know the the BWCA boundary is north and east a bit from the campground.
His wife requires showers otherwise we would have hundreds of options but I have never been to Fall Lake, how is it as a fishery?
Hope you find a taker. Great idea for a meet and greet and some free beer:)"

If you have a 25hp motor you can fish the entire lake (with motor permit) and possibility portage over to Basswood.
35hp will limit you to smaller areas of Fall Lake, but will not need a motor permit when staying on the other side of the magic line.

I'd trailer to Birch, Shagawa, and other lakes in the area. There are lots of fishing opportunities within range.

Drats.
B#3 I stopped by last year and made the trade with you....
Unfortunately I was not able to make the trip this year.
Hip replacement on March 29 got infected.
Then I had to have another on April 27. And yet another on April 29th.
Now after 7 weeks of pic line antibiotics, I get to see the doctor tomorrow and set the date for my 4th hip surgery, since March 29.
I better get good news .
I'll be there next year, just look for the flag....

Send me an email so we can compare notes on motor lake fishing around Ely.

If my doctor gives me bad news, you will be able to identify him as he will be the only guy running down the Fernburg trail covered with honey and pink feathers all over his body and a size 12 boot sticking out his azz.

Leeches seem to be in good working condition. And a few crawlers.
