OK, I think I have a better photo. I saw this near Galena Illinois. It was not intimidated by us at all.

Lynx have fairly long back legs that cause their back hips to be higher than their front shoulders, so on level ground it looks like they are sloped down toward their head. Bobcats back legs are about the same as the front so their backs are petty level. It's hard to tell from this photo, but even if the cat is on a slight down hill slope (look at the position of each foot), I still think it looks like its sloping down from back to front shoulder - so I'd say probably lynx.
Any better photo possible? And where was this? Perhaps he was after your birdie?

As far as the weight estimate.
Unless one is use to seeing wild animals most way over estimate their weight.

Wolf mating with Lynx. Wow - That would be something to see. Cat Scratch Fever?

I saw this creature on the golf course over the weekend. It had pointed ears like a lynx, but appeared to weigh about 90 to 100 pounds. Any ideas?

Those tall back legs look like a lynx for sure. The tail would tell you for sure if you have better photos. The lynx would have a black tip all the way around. The bobcat would have a black tip, but only on TOP of the tail.

Not sure why it’s not coming out clear. I have the picture on my iPhone. Any suggestions? I can text it to someone if they think they can get a better photo posted.

is this one of those optical illusion pictures?

Something wrong with your photo but based on the length of the legs I would say bobcat. Bobcats do have an ear tuft too, just not as pronounced as a lynx.

Looks like a bobcat. They rarely weigh much more than 35lb but can appear much larger.I believe the record is around 50lb. Cougars only average between 100-125lb.
