Nice pic again... and bong? breaks lol. Not really my thing :)
However I did read up a little on their predictions. I guess it is a secret formula made in 1792 and relies somewhat on sunspots. They claim 80% accuracy. The studies I read say it is more like 53% accurate which is equivalent to guessing. So in other words it is made up. In case anyone wanted to know :)

I've only been in "snowstorms" during May and June. Guess I am not surprised it could happen in September but it just seems winter is closing in quick this year.

Mid 80's in SW Michigan today and I'm pleasantly sore after a spectacular paddle. We seem to be having August in September after having September in August. Would not mind a few days of deep freeze to kill the mosquitos that are killing folks around here.

My thoughts exactly, shade, calm water, no wind, if you put your ear close to yhe monitor you can hear them buzzing.

Hmmm. Maybe the skeeters were all gobbled up by the heron, swans, storks, ducks, geese and fish. The wetland in the pic below is 20 meters upstream of the pic with my canoe. I wonder who is responsible for creating this horrible mosquito paradise.

It looks like the Farmers Almanac is gonna be wrong again. Sitting around a big city office, smoking pot, is no way to forecast the weather...

Is that kind of what they do? Well now I have something to research at work tomorrow. How do they get their forecasts.

I have a coworker who swears by this thing so out of curiosity I checked it out to see what might happen.
Almanac weather forecast upper midwest
SNOW ALREADY!!! I hope that proves to be false.
However October is looking rather nice....kind of at least.

Yeh, it melts in a couple of days. But winter can sneak up on you. Remember like Sept. 29th in Quetico fishing lake trout it was heavy snow squalls of and on all morning. Yes it melted right away. But it was cold on the water.

The last decade around grouse opener which is now it often has been in the 80's or even 90 degrees in the Mille lacs area-thats crazy. We use to see are first killer frost around Sept. 25th. Not this year. Are ash trees are turning yellow tho,the rest are dark green still.
