2016 Watap Palisades. One of my favorite pictures...for a variety of reasons. Cowdoc appears to have a different point of view :) |

Not grand in scale, but I took this on Cherokee Lake during a sunset. There is so much to soak in in the BWCA so it's easy to want to capture wide angle shots to get everything. This angled pine line and calm water really caught my eye. |

Caribou Lake, off of Clearwater. In the throes of dawn, beholding this scene, was perhaps one of the most delightful cups of morning coffee I have ever had. |

"Forest on Fire" Little Crab Lake, BWCA. Photo taken Sept. 27, 2019 at 6:43 p.m., Sony SLT-A57, f/7.1, 1/125", 20mm, ISO 100 We were, perhaps, the last human beings to witness the sun setting on Little Crab Lake as it presently is. The lake is scheduled for a burn this fall, including the far shore pictured here. We were making base camp, and were lucky enough to catch this spectacular sunset followed by a lone-wolf howling later that night. |

Horseshoe Lake June 2019 Horseshoe and Gaskin were moderately busy, but we had the entire 5-mile length of Winchell to ourselves. Bonus: spotting big lake trout in the shallows by the portage and enjoying lunch by the pretty little falls coming out of Tremble Lake. Gotta love these long, skinny, cliff-lined lakes of the eastern BWCAW. |
