Grandma L	12/12/2019 11:08PM   Don't suppose I get to vote because - for sure I will not be going but, I request that you carry SPOTs or InReach and share your connection with me so I can follow along. Magic Paddler and Ben (Nctry) can vouch for me. I am not your average evil stalker, just an innocent old grandma who loves to watch the paddle travelers. The timing of this Jamboree is perfect. I will have finished the Memorial Weekend watching and not have started the September Kruger-Waddell event mania.

MagicPaddler	12/08/2019 06:10AM   Lake A looks easier to get to while B looks like it is deeper water and more interesting. I would rather spend time exploring B.
TomT	12/08/2019 06:53AM   A looks great but if too shallow for fish then it would be a huge disappointment. I'd go with B but tend to want to see both. Why not a double bushwhack? Meet up on B then after 2 night go as a group to A then crash out together? It would make clearing trail and shuttling gear much easier. It could also develop some good stories and camaraderie.
tumblehome	12/07/2019 10:49PM   I've been wanting to do the Jamboree for a long time. I am going on a cruise in May as part of my marital requirements which might preclude my ability to go. I'm a happy that this sort of stuff still happens in the snowflake age! Tom

My current plans would have me a few days paddle away from that lake on the 14th, but it is still just a plan, and I am solo. Looking at route options that might put me in the neighborhood, and it is an area I haven't explored.

Harv	12/08/2019 10:21PM   Out of all these bushwacker jamboree's you've done how many people have made it to the designated lake including yourself? I'm looking at this one and wondering where would one enter from? Gunflint, Prairie? This would be cool if done in the BWCA too.

My group was so close, that Hex heard my Grumman banging in the brush. Group dynamics were our downfall. Second one (2010), 5 groups made it. 14 in all, as I recall, including myself. Third one (2015). Only Magic Paddler (solo) & some day trippers that don't count. This wouldn't legally work, in the BWCA. Too many restrictions. Can't gather with more than 9, for starters. Designated campsites etc....

tumblehome	12/09/2019 11:19AM   Whoof! After looking at the maps more closely, this indeed is a challenge. You cannot get to it from Kash creek since all the white on the map is exposed granite which means cliffs. You will have to follow the low spots or folds in geography to get to the lake which means coming out of Kawnipi. You will need to get to the unnamed lake that is in between lake A and B then follow the low land into lake B. Definately a real bushwhackers Jamboree. Tom
