I like it, it makes a canoe trip look like great fun. Enjoyed the little surprise jumper at the end--is that you?

Hey guys, I just wanted to share my video I made a couple years ago. I made this video from a ton of raw footage I accumulated over a few years. I actually plan on making another video soon but I think I might wait until after my trip this upcoming July.
By the way, the big walleye Im releasing later in video was 28"
Tell me what you think.
Thanks for watching!
Josh

Dean, I couldn't agree more. Insula is one of my favorite lakes as well. It's too bad the Pagami Creek fire burnt the entire southern half of the lake. I feel burnt forest becomes a real eye sore after a while. However, I do plan on going back to Insula in 2025. Hopefully there will be a significant amount of small vegetation by then.
And yes, it was my idea to leave the fish carcass for the eagle. ;)

Spartan, that was not me at the very end. It was my friend Dan.

Tom, I believe I first heard it from the movie Invincible with Mark Wahlberg. Then years later I heard it again on Django Unchained thinking it would be perfect for a BW video ;)

Awesome video, reminds me of my group during our "younger days". Definitely captured the essence of the BW and what it's about for your group. Nice work.

I like it. I have also made a couple canoe trip videos.
What do I think? It moves fast which is good. Lots of short clips. You are never bored wondering when the action is coming. Good length also. Three to five minutes is about all you can expect people to watch. I get a pretty good feel for the kind of trip you take and the people on it. I would guess you had a lot of footage and boiled it down to the best of the best then edited those down to just the best part of each. Maybe add a few close up shots of the guys on trip so you get an idea of who they are. Definitely one of the better homemade canoe videos I have seen. Nice job and thanks for posting it.

That was very cool! The eagle shot is amazing. So is the rock jumping. The only thing you might want to do different on the next trip is to clean your fish away from camp. I will paddle the shore or look for good spots while out fishing. You don't want those fish smells around any campsites or you might get a surprise visitor.
Also, the music choice. How the heck does a 20 something come up with that?! I haven't heard that song in so many years but remember it well from all the radio play it got way, way back in the day. Jim Croce was really something. I'm just curious what made you use that song which is great btw.

I haven't thought much about this year's trip until watching your video. Our plan is to go back to Insula for the first time in a few years, we love that lake! Our boys have spent hours swimming at that huge beach where you were camped. Whoever thought of setting up the shot for the eagle to drop in on the fish carcass is brilliant. Thanks for sharing.
