Hey All-

I run a small field station for Coe College, out of Iowa, that is next to the BW, and we take college students into the wilderness as part of the courses they take at our station. It's pretty awesome getting to see students who have never been into the woods, much less in a canoe, figure out they can get from lake to lake and set up camp on their own (I mean, we're with them, but they have to do it, and they do!).

You all seem like a bunch that might know of folks who'd like a summer position either cooking or helping manage the station.

The positions are listed here if you want to pass this along: https://www.coe.edu/why-coe/discover-coe/human-resources/careers

And info about the station is at coe.edu/fieldstation

Mods, I checked about this a while back but didn't hear from you. If this isn't okay, sorry. It was a go last year so I figured I'd put it out there again.

I will be retired in April, and I looked long and hard at this too. I don't think I would be able to swing it this year, but......

I'm from Center Point Iowa , grew up in CR, I just retired but can't commit to a whole summer. what a great opportunity for college kids, I wish it was around when I was in college.

fairmatt you guys are great opportunity for Iowa students. If you have any recommendations of friends or family let them know! Someday I'll get out there - we know Neil Bernstein very well and he's out there a lot as I recall. the main issue for me is that I'm usually now up north in the summer!

It's paid, and would be commensurate with experience. It's a short-term position, and I'll be honest we don't have a huge budget. Feel free to PM me.
