I'm going to throw out a curve ball. Not in BWCA, and not in Quetico. North of Quetico. We ended up wind bound around noon on this beautiful island on this very large lake. Looking north. And that's how my buddy slept every night of the trip.

I have been past there many times but never stopped. We use to camp on the beach on Big Island to the south and east a bit. Love that area.

I didn't even get to use the castle clue. Ha! Winner."
I bet that's the Fish Island campsite, looking up towards the Castle - which would be ~4 miles further north. Found the oddest thing at that campsite - a toilet bowl brush back by the latrine. Why?!

I didn't know it had a name but now that I look at it on google maps the island is shaped like a fish and is pretty much right in the middle of the lake. We were paddling north, the wind had been building all morning, and as we were approaching the island things got interesting. We ended up spending the rest of the day and night there and paddled out at 5AM to the castle. Beautiful spot to be stuck in any case. We didn't leave the toilet brush. :)

Yep, shaped like a fish. I also had wind issues there, rounding the mainland point to the east of Fish Island was a serious challenge and almost got ugly. Glad you were not responsible for the brush! :)
