Cowdoc that is a cool photo of your son. I totally get why that holds a special place. And Dreamer your first photo reminds me of me lol. Honestly if someone had posted that and said it was me I would have had to look really close. I would have spotted real marshmallow sticks and called BS :) |

My two trip partners for the last 14 years. Brought me from young 20s to current day. My pup is no longer with us as of the Fall but these two were instrumental in my growing up and spent a ton of time with me up there. Just a picture of me enjoying the peacefulness. A recent group picture that includes my father who has been bringing me, my sister (also pictured), and my brother to the bwca since I was just a couple months old. My wife who has been going with me for like the last 18 years. And my children who have also been getting introduced since they were a few months old. And to top it off they get to experience it with the original one, my father. |

x2jmorris: "2003? I see that is also when you joined this site.... or are you one of the creators of it? Not one of the creators of the site, but one of the early members. As for the chairs, wine, etc., I wanted to take Debbie on a canoe trip, and after approximately 30 trips to Q for me, we took our first trip to the BW together. The bag chairs were a luxury that we thoroughly enjoyed. |

Argo: "Stemware in the wilderness. A most refined couple. The bowl unscrews from the stem and the base screws back into the rim for packing, yes? Even better than what they say in the brochure!" Oh yes, Argo... if we were any more refined, we would have been holding our wine glasses with our little pinkies raised. LOL Yes, the bowl and stem screw together. Gotta love Lexan in the wilderness. |

Me fishing on Clearwater on a crisp May day. A beautiful night on Fourtown. Misty morning on Fairy. I can still hear the wolves howling from the night before... |

This is one of the first good shots I got on my first trip in 2012. Woke up early and started shooting the morning fog. It was only years later that I came back to this photo to gave it a good edit. Still one of my favorites. I got this shot in 2018 when a storm came through at the end if July. It rained heavily all night but before that I got this lighting strike when the storm was just rolling in. I took this last year, 2019. I woke up early hoping to get the sun rise but the island we were on had some high peaks. Even at the top I was unable to get the sunrise because of the other higher peaks. I ended up dropping back down and took a photo of the edge of the island as the light got better. This is also a 25 second long exposure that smooths out the water and sky. |

My son, Kyle, and me standing next to Chatterton Falls in Quetico in 2010. What a great spot. Three dads and three sons in 2003 on the boys' first trip to Q. Debbie and me in 2012 on our first-ever trip to the BW. Great campsite between Ima and Alworth. |

This will be off topic but you mentioned filters and an interest in B&W conversion. Here is a one photo example of what I have done but with my favorite topic. converted to done in "vintage wet plate" and aged. butthead |

My son's first trip (LLC). The paddle, the fish, the rocks.....simple pic that has a special place in my albums. He has gone almost every year since then (18 years ago) Leaving the south bay of Louisa and headed north up the length of the lake. I took this picture of Suncatcher as we started the long paddle. Makes you feel small in a big, beautiful place. Waking up early on Moon lake in October and caught this pink, puffy sunrise. I watched it unfold for while and realized that scenes like this are the reason I come back. |

x2jmorris: "River fisher is there a story with that middle picture? Also I knew someone would have landscapes. Those are nice, especially the 3rd one." No story, just like the sparks from the fire going into the sunset between the trees. Just one of those perfect evenings up north. |
