Thanks for the recommendation. Just placed it on hold at my local library, but if you can't find it in your library, try the Open Library.

On the recommendation of the OP, I bought this book. I finished reading it this evening. I agree, it’s a page turner. I did not want to put it down. As another poster mentioned it helped to see the picture with the main characters to “put a name to the face” as the saying goes. I also loved the pictures at the end of the book that just solidified their adventure and made it feel real. It’s definitely a good read.

I ordered a bunch of books from Piragis When the shelter in place started. I just finished this one. A real page turner! If you’re looking for a good book, I recommend it.

I took it on my recent solo trip. I realized I didn’t want to read about an ill-fated mission when I was out on a solo trip. Ha ha. Had to finish it when I got home.

Anybody read it?

Ada

I am glad you agree!! It was hard reading about them preparing for the adventure...Great book, though. Thanks for sharing!

Northland is a non fiction book. It tells the history of the US starting in the 1600s. It tells a lot of Native American history. The author weaves it into his journey.

IT's GOOD!! The author has an engaging way of introducing the expedition team members and let's the story unfold for you, with hints of impending doom.

Helpful hint: earmark the page with the photo of the team. I referred back to it as the people were introduced.

Drop me a note or post here if you read it. I'd love to discuss your opinion. I thought it was an amazing story!! I wish I could have met Ada.

William Kent Krueger is an author who writes mysteries set in the Boundary Waters area. Might not want to read them in the woods alone. Lol!
