I just thought I'd create a thread for anyone who wanted more info on how to contact the Forest Service. The Wilderness Manager of the BWCA contacted me. She said often when visitors leave, they leave their complaints behind and it is very valuable to for them to know about complaints since the rangers can't be everywhere at once.

Standard Mail:
Superior National Forest
Forest Wilderness Manager, Ann Schwaller

I've had good success with responses ron USFS. Of course totally conflicting answers to same question from different rangers, but that's just normal government.

So did I. :-)

But I can see a good reason to have a way to register a complaint if one is warranted.

So why is it when I send a letter, emails, a phone number to both my letter and email to the Forest Service no one contacts me back? It’s not like I didn’t give them options to contact me. Im not saying it was you, I can’t remember because it was 5 years ago. I’ve had this happen more than once where I have a concern, and all I get Is Crickets chirping. I hit the contact us button on the webpage and sent a letter in the mail to the local Ranger station. I gave up on contacting the Forest Service after three times over the years. Again no disrespect to you personally, I only want to tell my less than stellar response back from the Forest Service.

I actually did have a complaint which is on another thread (canoe dropoff at occupied campsite). I guess I should have titled the thread better ... ha ha.

Wow that is frustrating. Maybe the chain of command has changed over the years?

Thanks for posting this Ann. I will save it for future use, now that I know someone will reply.

She's not with the Forest Service. She contacted them about the issue with canoe drop offs at their site. She's only giving the contact info here as a matter of interest.
