Cool that you recognize some of the lakes. I haven't been in that area.

I'm not sure where their first stop was, but their second night was on Jordan, and the pictographs he stopped by were along the narrows on the east side of Jordan. He references two lakes connected by a channel later--that's Thomas and Fraser (they camped on Thomas). Next they camped on Insula on, I believe, site 1337 by that paddle planning website's numbering system (seriously, blocking that website's name is super petty; their maps and interface are just nicer, sorry not sorry). The area in the burn was Lake Three the next night. They exited at the Lake One entry point, and his hike to the car would have been from Lake One to Snowbank.
Now to blow you mind. I've never been to this area. I'm just that good at reading a map. Knowing that they started on Snowbank because of the answers in this thread and based on the features I saw, the descriptions of the areas and portages, and the numbers of portages he talked about, I deduced the route. I even figured which Insula site they were at based on the lighting and the horizon I just poked through site photos on the website on which one plans paddles but shall not be allowed to be named on bwca.com while I was watching/listening and saw a site that matched.

Very cool.
In some of his earlier videos he would go over his maps and point out his route. In some of his videos, I have tried to guess the route based on number of portages and distinctive camp sites. Like an island site two portages from a very large lake etc.

I have heard Sawbill has a boat dock. Are there more lakes with a boat dock?

Yup, Snowbank... and it sucks for solo canoes. It's the only way to get on land there. It's a pain to get in and even more of a pain to get out.

That is a motor lake too. Is that why there are boat docks?
My understanding is that Snowbank is large and has potential for being wind bound.

I take it you launched without tipping then? Seems like the platform would raise the center of gravity when entering the canoe.

Being a large round lake, not many places to get away from the wind.

We definitely didn't tip. I don't recall any real problems.
