New photos on the main page would be nice. But make sure to check out the photo contest entries - many of these photos are spectacular. I enjoy going through these especially at this time of year.

Not Jan. Unfortunately, the only time I spent with him was many late-night hours in chat. That photo is a group of friends who, with one exception, were on their first-ever canoe trip. It was our last campsite and I was setting the camera up on a tripod so I could set the self-timer and get in the photo too. I took a couple test shots to be sure my settings were correct and they had no idea I was taking photos. It turned out the unposed photo captured the spirit of the evening much better than the later “ everybody looking at the camera” photos. It’s been on the front page a long time, new photos are a nice idea.
