TZ, you read my profile correctly. However, it is intentionally off by several months. I don't like giving out the exact date for obvious reasons. But I have already repeated your phrase "the eighth decade" to several of my friends and family.

Thanks!! My eighth decade. Good Lord that does sound ancient!!!
I have to confess, the odometer does not really turn over until May before my first trip. If the border is open I will start the season with a solo and a tow to Prairie and then a beeline to the middle of Agnes for night one. Last year, 2019, I made it to the island site near the top of Agnes on day one. And was almost too tired and shaky to set up my tent when I got there!! I guess in honor of my eighth decade I should dial it back a bit.

Did I misread your profile--thought your birthday was 01-01-'51? Anyway, we'll also be in our eighth decade before this year's trip. And on our 2019 Quetico trip we paddled from Moose to an island campsite on the lower end of Agnes. Camp setup and cooking went OK, but we hit the sack around 8:15 and slept until 8:00 the next morning. Hoping for a similar trip--10 days, 100-125 miles--this year, IF the border opens.

GraniteCliffs, as you enter your eighth decade (and my apologies if that sounds older than "as you turn seventy"), may you be blessed with good health, good friends, good gear, and ample opportunities for great paddling trips. Many happy returns of the day!

And Happy New Year, too. May 2021 be kinder to you than 2020 has been to many, and may we all see open Quetico boundaries in 2021.
