What a splendid analogy!

Thanks to our dairy farmers and when I write "dairy farmers," I mean Adam and the mods. They remind me of dairy farmers because, like dairy farmers, they never get to take a break. If there's a blizzard, dairy farmers still have to milk the cows. If they have the flu, they still have to milk the cows. If they have the flu AND there's a blizzard too, they still have to milk the cows.

And no matter how they're feeling or whatever else is tugging at them, Adam and the mods still have to lean into the wind and check on us, to make sure we haven't stampeded through a fence or kicked over a lantern in the bwca.com barn.

Interesting analogy. Spartan1 worked on a farm with a dairy component back in the 1970's. No one works harder or more constantly than a dairy farmer.

And I, too, thank Adam and the mods for keeping things running for all of us.

I had a boss who said that when he’s hiring, if a farmer is applying he/she becomes the front runner. Saying they are the hardest workers!

Having grown up on a Dairy farm, let me add: when its time to get rid of the crap that has piled up, Adam and the Mods address that chore as well.

Thanks to the people who keep BWCA.com running smooth.
I dairy farmed for 12 years, made so much money I had to quit. Rewarding life, every day is a Monday.

I currently am a dairy farmer, so thank you? Lol. And yes thank you to those who keep this site going. I’ve only been on here for a few years so I’m relatively new and I really appreciate this site, the people who keep it going, and the wealth of knowledge it provides. And as a dairy farmer I must add please buy organic valley organic grass fed milk to keep us going as well

We all owe farmers our thanks, not just for feeding us, but for how they do it, working from can until can't.

Ha! Great and true way to extend the analogy.

To Katie and everyone who responded, very nice comments and thank you for saying them. The other guys may want to add their thoughts, but on behalf of Adam, Arkansas Man (Bruce), Beemer (Bryan), Bogwalker (Steve) and me (Pete), this is an awesome group and it's a joy to be part of it. Sharing the common love of canoeing in the BWCA, Quetico, Woodland Caribou and Wabakimi with so many like-minded people makes my day everyday. Thanks.
