Does anyone know why the "America the Beautiful Pass" is accepted in the BWCA but not in the campgrounds of the Superior NF? I am under 62 and bought this pass last year, it worked in Wisconsin and Michigan National Forests but according to the websites it cannot be used in most of the Superior NF campgrounds. Guessing this has something to do with the contractors who maintain the campgrounds and their contracts? Searched further and I may be wrong, looks like it is accepted but is a little obscure on the Superior NF campground website, I still cannot find anything definitive at campgrounds on the Superior NF, in regards to the America the Beautiful pass. Link. |

LindenTree: "A little off topic. I use mine last year at Sawbill. 50% off camp fee. |

dustytrail: "I use mine last year at Sawbill. 50% off camp fee." Used mine (50% off) the last 4 years at Sawbill (not including 2020). |

jhb8426: "dustytrail: "I use mine last year at Sawbill. 50% off camp fee." This is the reason for my question, I guess I need to call the USFS about this, if it applies to campgrounds like Little Isabella River and Divide Lake CG's. It is not posted on the individual CG's campsite website, and is not posted at the information kiosk at the CG's. Here is a quote from the Chequamegon Nicolet NF's CG's website in Wisconsin, they also have this posted at their CG's Kiosk's. "Individual campsite fee is $15/night, payable at the fee envelope tube at the site. Nightly fees are half of price shown with use of Interagency Senior or Access Pass. Interagency Pass discounts apply only to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass holder." |

yogi59weedr: "Correct. This pass gives out a 50% discount on permits and camping." Don't know about the $8 fee you mention, but it does give a reduced price on most fees. I had a lifetime pass up until 3 years ago when my wallet was stolen. I've purchased a yearly pass since then and now can qualify to use the yearly pass purchases towards the (new) $80 fee for the lifetime pass. |

I have an access pass. They guy typed in a interagency pass and computer didn't recognize it. Last night the lady said it could not be changed because it was locked into the computer . I'll probably spend a hour changing it today. But meanwhile I'm doing my snoopy dance.. I got a om permit for Basswood. |

Jackfish: "Yogi, what is an integrated pass?" I think he meant to type Interagency Pass. |

We paid 20 bucks for it a number of years ago. My only problem with it is I feel guilty using it in the National Parks. We roll up and pay nothing while the young family behind us barely getting by has to cough up the 20 bucks or so for every park they enter. |
