Well, another hint. This lake is known for it's exceptional trophy smallmouth bass potential....this not quite trophy smallie was caught on a spawning bed at one of the two canoe landings at the campsite....

I don't know what lake this is, but by your descriptions...it is definitely one that I should find.

This lake can be entered via a portage from a river, from a lake with pictos, from a smaller lake loaded with eater walleye, and from a portage known to be quite long and steep....


Oh, and this lake also is known to harbor trophy northern pike. Might have walleye, but I have yet to snag one....

I had no idea the average depth of Wicksteed was seven feet, but the other clues got me there. I’ll get Lake 53 going soon.

Me neither....till I looked at the ODNR lake info stuff....

7ft? Lotsa deeper areas....especially SW basin....
