We purchased the Wenonah drop-in seat for our MNII which my daughter used when she was 5 & 6 years old. It does sit fairly high and kids always seem to be moving around, it did make Mom and Dad uncomfortable. For last year's trip we took her kid's camp chair (foldable) and set it in the bottom. It worked great and she sat much lower in the canoe. It is a much more reasonably priced alternative as well. We definitely recommend it.

Below are pictures of the drop-in seat and I didn't have one of the camp chair in the canoe, but you can see it sitting next to the canoe on a portage.

Thanks for the input. You confirmed my thoughts that it might make for wiggle warts sitting too high. In the past we have used a seal pack to sit on and it has worked fine. You just helped me save some cash from the BW budget!

I own this and while it works for young children, they do sit high, and it is not nearly as comfortable. It does the job, but I added a permanent third seat to my Northwind 18 and the kids and I will never go back.
P.S. If you live near the Twin Cities your welcome to try mine before buying.

Need to add a middle seat to my Northstar Northwind and Mad River so two more grand sons can join our trips this summer. Any input on the Spring Creek model? How high do you sit in these seats? Thanks in advance.
