So sorry for your loss. Sounds like the type of guy we'd all love to know.

Real Ely character. Helped tear down Basswood lodge, and use it to make floor of the cookshack at Canadian Border Outfitters. Was bass player in the Electra's. Was owner of Cranberries Saloon in Ely (place to be in 1970's -80's) Spent more time in BWCA than most of us will. Passed one week ago...Goodbye Earl, my friend... hope to see you again.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. I never met him but ate at cranberries several times and really enjoyed it. A great loss for Ely.

Hey Stumpy. I'm sorry to hear of Earl's passing. I love that he repurposed historic lumber for the CBO building. Priceless man, priceless lumber. Tom

Very sad loss indeed. His stepson is our fire chief here in Goodland. Very nice family and Earl was very much loved by all who knew him. It was good to hear more of his accomplishments stumpy. Thanks!

Earl the Pearl RIP. Ely is not the same as is was back when Earl owned and bartended at Cranberry's. Nor will it ever be the same without Earls bass echoing down Ely streets on weekend nights. Earl had spent the winter living in Texas and playing with a band down there.
P.S. Thanks Earl for never throwing me out of Cranberry's.
