The 2nd water area down from top left corner - with the island - is inlet bay. The top one is Poacher. Took me a while and google maps to get oriented.
Was surprised by aerial photo that looks like taken from BWCA no-fly zone.

I have been to PP literally dozens and dozens and dozens of times. Somehow I can’t see it on the picture. Guess it is time for me to abandon the old paper maps and rely on gps so I will know where in heck I am on my trips this year.

It's in the upper left of the photo. Basswood just barely makes it into the photo. I had to look at a map to be sure.

Jim Brandenburg aerial photo of Praire Portage headlining an article at Quetico Superior Wilderness News is pretty interesting.

Beautiful photo! I never would have been able to pick out PP without some help.

Not a "no fly zone" it is a restricted zone that does not allow flights below a ceiling of 4000 feet. Considering that Basswood Lake is around 1300 feet elevation a flight would be outside the restricted zone a mere 2700 feet above the lake. Looks to me like the photo was taken well above that height.
