fadersup: "Incredible, thanks for sharing. Is the list a combination of visual and vocal ID or did he put eyes on all of these?" He said he got a visual on all but 3 or 4 on the list, and there were a few warbler songs he wasn’t able to identify. |

fadersup: "Incredible, thanks for sharing. Is the list a combination of visual and vocal ID or did he put eyes on all of these?" I think it was a combo although I’m pretty sure he got a visual on most of them. His binoculars were always handy. |

One of the many things I like to do when up north is listen and look for different birds. Thanks! |

rdgbwca: "That is cool. I bet they woke you up in the morning. :-)" Our alarm clock was the male grouse whose drumming log was about 20’ back from the tents. I’ve heard them many times, but this was the 1st time I’d actually seen one do it. We could walk up fairly close to him before he’d hop off his perch and scurry away. He’d start before dawn every morning, same spot on the same log, and do his routine every 8 minutes or so until dusk. We all wished him luck on our exit day! |

Bonvicken: "rdgbwca: "That is cool. I bet they woke you up in the morning. :-)" Wow. That is a unique alarm clock. Now for the next question. Were you able to verify the presence of any small mouthed or big eyed or sharp toothed fish in Bald Eagle Lake? |

rdgbwca: "Bonvicken: "rdgbwca: "That is cool. I bet they woke you up in the morning. :-)" We did well fishing. Smallies, pike, walleye, crappie and even a couple of dinky perch! |

ThreeRivers: "I keep a list every year, I will post to the Bird forum from last June on Lynx and when I get back from my solo trip starting June 5th on Loon. " It would be pretty cool to have a master list of all birds spotted within the boundaries of the BWCAW. |

Jaywalker: "ThreeRivers: "I keep a list every year, I will post to the Bird forum from last June on Lynx and when I get back from my solo trip starting June 5th on Loon. " +1 and dates when observed. Would be interesting to see phenology trends in song bird migration/nesting. |

bobbwca: "jillpine: "Jaywalker: "ThreeRivers: "I keep a list every year, I will post to the Bird forum from last June on Lynx and when I get back from my solo trip starting June 5th on Loon. " Understood. I was referencing the idea of a master list. |
