These things and similar are all over the Bdub. I've seen posts, rings, holes, grommets, and chains in dozens of locations over the years. Many, if not most, are logging artifacts for log booms and securing equipment. They're fun to find.
In your case, I would guess these secured a boom that contained logs until the logs were ready to be floated out. However, those more educated on this stuff may have a better answer.

Think there was once a road up through there.... supporting parts for some sort of bridge?

Yes there was a bridge. Some called the road the east Pow Wow trail. Is there also a campsite right there?

I did not notice any on the other side which is where I at first thought the portage was. These are on the north side, and I actually seem to recall there being a decent sized eratic on the south side but could be wrong. Google maps shows an old road south of there, so maybe something went north there in the days of Forest Center, but it seemed like a bouldery, wet area not well suited to roads or even floating logs. Perhaps water levels were different then for some reason.

Actually the forest road you show to the south you could still drive that far than hit the old trailhead going north. Most older maps will show the trail.

There use to be 3 campsites between Parent and Bogus lake which you talk about. All on the north side of the river. I think your circle is dead center where the bridge was. Even like around 1985 most of the bridge was gone, but I thought they still put in a walking bridge. In the fall there was always grouse hunters walking it for it was a good road-trail.

" Your circle is real close to the old road that went north and crossed the river. There use to be a campsite just a few feet down from the old bridge and on the north side. I have camped there like 3 decades ago and others would also. The road continued after crossing the river for a few miles and at one time made a loop I believe. I will have to dig out a older topog map.

Fascinating! I knew an old road went up on the west side of Isabella, but not over a ways east. There are no campsites in that area now. My Fisher map showed a couple I think just downstream, but they were closed after the Pagami Creek fire. Like most closed sites post-fire, it was hard to even tell where they use to be. I stopped at what I thought might have been one once, but the landing was a mess, the fire grate was pulled, rocks dispersed, and 6-10 foot Jackpines were thick as weeds everywhere including any old tent pads.Once I left Perent Lake, the next site was on the little lake just south of Boga.

I too have seen these up there. I assumed they were anchor holes or tie off points for log booms.

maybe they are survey markers

I found these metal stakes driven into the rocks at a small portage on the Perent River about half way between Isabella and Perent lakes. There was no navigable water through this narrow spot when I went, and I don't think it would be navigable if the water was higher by even a foot or two. It didn't look anything like the Phoebe River just east of Hazel.
Could someone have been trying to move boulders for some other reason? Maybe something from the logging camp days? Any ideas? I'm stumped.

I have seen the drilled holes before but never the metal posts, I thought they were tie off points to secure a floating platform or dock either at a logging or remote outfitters camp. I think it was on Gaskin lake.
