Great pictures! My daughter has been bugging me to take her and her dog out canoeing this fall. I doubt that she'll take the stern though :). She likes it when I can paddle her around. Still, any time on the water is good with her! Glad you had a special time with your daughter.
Did you make her say, "Aaargh!" like a true captain of the Black Pearl would? :)

Our permit got cancelled last week but, still a most memorable long weekend.
Paddled from the landing at East Bearskin landing to Bearskin Lodge. Caught a fish along the way that she landed herself as well. I thought she did just fine for her first foray, although she admitted afterwards she still prefers her spot in the bow. But, the process of passing the torch on to the next generation has begun!

It's great you could still get out on the water after the permit was cancelled. Also, very cool to see Aurora taking a turn in the driver's seat :-)

My how they grow so fast... it’s so awesome to see her able to spend time with her dad. And what better way then quality time in the canoe... taking the helm at that. Just seems like last week she was on the island campsite on finger lake in her snowsuit. With her parents franticly packing up camp trying to get out of there cause some old guy was talking their ear off! Haha.
