The planning part is more that we are going to go, and to get my friend to start thinking about the type of trip he would like to do. He and I are doing a Winter camping outing in two weekends and we will chat about it. As far as the actual planning, that will wait for a while."

Good for you! Don’t let up on your enthusiasm. I have been planning my 2022 trip for a year and a half so believe me I can totally relate to your excitement and anticipation. It’s never too early to plan especially with the way the last couple of years have been and depending on what you need to procure for the 2023 trip. Happy planning and enjoy Alaska. Cheers!

Enjoy your cruise. You'll see some of the majestic beauty of Alaska from comfort. There's a wonderful floatplane excursion to Misty Fjord National Monument with Michelle if you stop in Ketchikan. (http://www.islandwings.com/) It's more personal with her outfit. Book way ahead bcuz seating is limited.

I have started trip planning for 2023 too! I think we are set on late may entering EP 14. So many different routes, I'd be a fool not to plan ahead. Started planning our 2021 trip in 2019. Went off with only a few hitches (windbound on Eugene and finally crossed to Fat lake portage only to realize someone was at the only site, shot too far on the portage from takuchmich into trygg). Glad I always had a back up plan and knowledge of the different campsites and their pros and cons!

Ever hear the punchline "Telling you? I'm telling EVERYBODY!"?

Today I started the very preliminary planning for a 2023 trip. I'm jacked up beyond belief. We will go either at the end of May or the beginning of September. I want my main outdoors buddy to pick the season, type of trip, entry and destination, etc.

When we went as a group on our last trip, the group couldn't handle the physical part of it and we didn't go as far as we planned. My buddy didn't complain but I know that if it was just us two we would have went on and such. So ... I'm going to make sure we take the trip he wants to take and I'll have a great time, whatever it is.

So I'm telling everybody. I'm so excited.

End of May 2022 is a Fly-In trip, the first of September is a cruise to Alaska. For the past few years I've planned a trip in September, but the cruise we have planned is Covid canceled and gets planned for the next year. Frustrating, but a cruise with my wife is what she wants, so I'm thrilled to do it.

But, good question.

If you are this excited why aren’t you planning something for this year 2022? Trust me I get what your saying I’m way overboard excited planning a Quetico and 2 BWCA trips for this year.

Alaska looks like a lot of fun.

We did a week long October MEA family trip to Utah last fall. It was pretty amazing and I’d highly recommend Utah and the National parks trip if you haven’t been.
