She said yes!!! My wife of 32 years said yes to Canoecopia! She never ceases to amaze me.

Not me. The last few years were a disappointment since I have been to every show since the early 1980’s. I even went to a “Meet the Makers” event at the old store on Monroe St in the late 1970’s, before Rutabaga moved the show to its current location.

We will probably go, but you may not recognize us, as we will be masked. (Not trying to start an argument here, just the facts of our lives. My husband is immune suppressed and very high risk. )

My wife and I will be there all weekend.
I will also be a speaker for the first time, doing a presentation titled, "Quetico Provincial Park: The Ultimate How-to". Feel free to sit in on the sessions on Friday afternoon at 3:30pm and Sunday afternoon at 1:30pm.

Well, we do have some Spartan masks, but not quite as flashy as those. I'll consider it. :-)

OneMatch: "mschi772: "Canoecopia is always at a time that conflicts with my work schedule which is especially tragic because I'm self-employed and have a relatively large amount of free time, but I always have customers requesting service on Copia's dates. Honestly, though, conventions aren't a big thing for me anyway; I prefer doing the thing rather than being in a crowd looking at and buying the thing.
Unas10: "I was not planning on it, but now that I see that Dane county's mask requirement expires March 1st, it is a possibility. I have not attended for several years and have been thinking that it is time to take a look again."
It would probably still be wise to wear a mask for an event such as Canoecopia regardless of whether or not there is a mandate. Even if COVID isn't an issue, it seems there is a bunch of other stuff going around as if it needs to make up for lost time."
As a presenter, I was just informed that even though the Dane County mandate will expire, that Canoecopia - as of now - will still be requiring masks. That may change so if that is a problem for you, you might want to find out the official policy as the date approaches. It would be awkward if you were counting on not wearing a mask and showed up and told you have to. "
Their website says that they will follow the local ordinance, which I assume would be the city or county.
I could not attend if I had to wear a mask all day long. I was never clostrophobic before, but 20 minutes is all I can handle in a mask. I live a very low risk life and I know that I pose no risk to others.

santacruz: "fadersup: "I'm looking forward to attending to the greatest paddling show around. Canoes, kayaks, discounted gear, educational seminars, resources for trip planning, shooting the sh&t with good people that love what I love.
Wait, what? I have to wear a mask?
Forget it. Doesn't sound like my thing. " +1, they cancelled the rv show next door, no thanks, skipping as well." I only posted that as an alert. Right after I posted that, the CDC announced it is removing indoor masking requirements and I'd bet that Canoecopia will follow that guideline.
So before you back out, keep an eye out for that change. We live in a tumultuous time where change is more often than not.
The Dane County mask requirement is set to expire tomorrow, so I'm sure more will be revealed.

Bought my virtual ticket again this year. $15. Really enjoy watching the seminars at my leisure for up to 90 days. Can catch every one of them that way, too.
I have taken advantage of some equipment price discounts available this way, too. But, some of the specific CCS items I covet are rarely in stock at rutabaga.com... (Dan: It's a yellow 10x14 1.1 oz tarp I'm after this year...) :-)

Will be there Fri-Sun, not so much for the gear expo although it is fun to look at expensive toys. The presentations have a lot to offer but mostly it is to see and share quality time with you good folks...and to hear Jerry play again.

I'm working a shift for Rutabaga and received my instruction email. This was included:
Covid-19 Protocols: - Dane County lifted their mask mandate on March 1st. Despite this, we will be requiring staff and vendors to wear masks during the event. We are strongly encouraging customers to wear face masks. Masks will be required in all speaker rooms due to the small room and crowding. Masks will be provided outside of speaker rooms.

We will be there this year, hoping 3rd time is a charm to actually make it there. We tried to go for the first time in 2020 and well we all know how that went....

I will be there Saturday morning for a little while.
I have a repair job to figure out on a canoe. Then probably just walk the displays and head out. If the rooms are going to be crowded, I don't want to tempt the fates that way.

Just lined up my virtual sessions to watch. This might be the last year for that. Seems so much of the same old same old. Maybe after seeing more of them, I'll find some new info. They are available for 90 days, which is an increase over last year's 60 days anyway.

I'll be there! My 1st in-person CanoeCopia.
Bought tickets two years ago and then it was cancelled. Attended last year's Virtual CanoeCopia and learned LOTS to apply to my 1st BWCA trip. (The trip was cancelled due to the fires).
Can't wait for my 1st BWCA trip in September!!!
