I stocked up on Girl Scout cookies for the summer trips as well. I sat with the Rutabaga folks for a bit, trying to work out the specs and cost on a new NovaCraft Prospector.

Purchased a Superior Gear hammock. Each one is custom made, so I have to wait. Time to sell the Hennessey.

I happily got my hands on a carbon fiber paddle (Aquabound Stingray). Rutabaga does a great job at helping you understand what you need. So glad that even though Swift couldn't make it, they had some boats there so I knew what size to buy my paddle.
Picked up a few books about Wisconsin lakes and rivers too and have lovingly poured over them planning trips when the ice melts.
My significant other and I also picked up bug shirts and portage pads for shoulder carrying our pack boats.

I bought a lightweight, packable blanket thing made by Thermarest. I'm always cold. Obviously it can be used along with your sleeping bag, but it also has a snap closure on one side to make it so you can wear the damn thing, too.

Haha! Yes, at copia...but feel free to confess to other purchases if you like :)

I never saw the Lucy Lights! Would have purchased another. Funny how - even scaled down a bit as far as vendors - things can be missed even when walking the floor ten times. I got Yakima kayak saddle and roller thing, so I'd be able to now carry both my and my daughter's kayak on the vehicle. Got some BDB's, of course. Was going to get the John Bates book on undeveloped/wild Wisconsin lakes but went back and the stack was gone. I always enjoy Bates' presentations at Canoecopia. Bought a couple Trailtopia desserts to try out (Cheesecake Dessert). It's always a crapshoot trying out the camping foods; sometimes there's a sample to try at the show....one of the other booths had some and they tasted, well,...so-so. But the desserts seem to be pretty safe. Also got a few CCS Zippered Stuff Sacks - the small ones, which are pretty big. Intended to get the round zippered barrel pack ones, but the cost kinda kept me from pulling the trigger on those.Plus, these larger zippered sacks will be even easier for organizing - and especially accessing - different stuff in my blue food barrel. What else did I get,... a 50' Sterling 5mm cord. Looked at two different paddles I liked - one even named the "Ray Special", calling to me by name - but did not leave with either. Was going to get some of that maple syrup, but forgot to go back. Also bought a pair of Fits socks for myself and a pair for my wife.

Funny, I saw the Portage North stuff and thought, "Well, these newcomers seem to have good stuff, in the vein of CCS,..." but didn't buy anything. Not until yesterday, when I got an email about their products, did I realize they were Kondos!

Of course, I bought another bottle of be and e's bourbon barrel aged maple syrup.
Finally picked up a ccs thwart bag, and a ccs barrel pack
I was fortunate enough to work for Canoecopia Friday night, and they were gracious enough to offer me a hefty merchandise discount for my efforts.
Northstar boats were selling like crazy Friday night, was a fun time helping the rutabaga staff load them on top of cars.

i bought a TrailBlazer pack from Portage North (formerly Kondos) and a variety of meals from Trailtopia.
I drooled over several beautiful canoe paddles from a variety of companies and had a nice conversation with someone from Northstar canoes.
It was great to be back at Canoecopia.

Usually, I don't buy anything. This year I made an exception and picked up some hammock straps and hardware for my son's hammock. I also got a Lucy light because I wanted to see what all the hubbub was about.

At this point in my life we are pretty well set on equipment. We did buy reflective tarp rope, a square pan to use when there are more people than just my husband and me, and a foam pad to teach my dog to keep her butt in the center of the canoe instead of leaning on whichever side the action is on!

Already well equipped, I did drool over a nearly $6000 boat, bought a box of girl scout cookies.

That's my favorite volunteer job at Canoecopia, carrying the sold boats out and helping load them. Happy customers, beautiful boats, but very dangerous too. I bought a Northstar last year after carrying many of them out :)
