I'd be afraid they wouldn't be sturdy enough and even duct tape wouldn't fix it. I would just re-use it at home.

My wife is on a "re-use everything at least once". So when I made coffee this morning, there was a small stack of motel paper cups in the cupboard. The one I picked was very solid and double-walled(?) like a built-in coozie.

Anyone ever take paper cups on a canoe trip? I have three of these and am thinking they could make the trip.

or is this a foolish idea?

Instead of taking a new foam coffee cup each day at the Y, I re-use yesterday's cup that I have saved in the car. But I'm still with you... if I reuse a paper plate at home and don't use my ceramic plate, what's the difference?

And no way would I count on paper cups, no matter how sturdy, making it thru a trip!

Paper hot cups have a waterproof (plastic) liner, a little better than foam cups eco wise but never designed for multiple use. When they fail, and they will, chances are you will have a lap full of hot coffee or worse yet 12 year old Scotch.

bobber, I'd just take my plastic mug I've been using for 25-30 years, and tell my wife to re-use mine while I'm gone . . . ;)

I think you are right... especially considering what merlyn mentioned about possible loss of hootch!

No. Nice that you considered it, but I think the paper cup idea is a no-go. Bring an insulated mug with a lid. It has the potential for multiple uses.

Get some BWCA.com camp cups and eliminate paper cups altogether.

I think its a pretty good idea perhaps someone could invent an object that was impervious to hot or cold liquids, possibly with a small handle attached, one could place the paper cup directly inside this newly designed object just in case the paper cup leaked, one could then wash it out an unlimited amount of times to facilitate the holding of the next leaky paper cup. If only someone could invent some product to clean my behind these damn pinecones are cramping my style…. ;)
